PLAYER SKILL DEVELOPMENT LABS

CALLING ALL SERIOUS ATHLETES WHO WANT TO ELEVATE THEIR GAME AND HAVE THAT COMPETITIVE EDGE!      

            Players in this program will receive physical development training as well as high-level basketball-specific skill development. The objective is to build athletic capacity, to add and refine fundamental as well as advanced basketball skills. Through interactive drills, challenges, and exercises athletes are encouraged to work hard in order to achieve their individual goals.   

1.) Learn how to move and set up proper spacing (without the ball) in order to create better scoring opportunities.
2.) Develop passing skills, reduce turnovers and keep your defender guessing your next move!
3.) Learn how to shoot the ball more effectively against any defender!
4.) Learn how to PLAY the GAME and not just run a play!

For Ages 10 and Up (**Exception may be made for younger players who are intermediate-advanced level)

 BALL HANDLING LAB 

This program is geared towards teaching players how to properly move on the court while effectively handling the ball. Players will be introduced to a variety of ball handling techniques as well as gain the basic fundamentals of dribbling while maintaining vision of the floor.  Players will develop the understanding of how and when to navigate tight spaces and areas of the court.  Each training session will include defense, agility and/or strength and conditioning exercises to help build these athletes.

COST: $275
DAY: Fridays
DATES: September 25 to November 27, 2020 (10 Weeks)
TIME: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
LOCATION: Kings Christian Collegiate (528 Burnhamthorpe Road West, Oakville)

SHOOTING LAB

This program is designed to introduce and get players repetitions of shots they will be shooting in game situations. A variety of different shots will be practiced at each session (Spot-up set shots, shooting off the dribble, catch and shoot on the move etc.).  Players will learn the fundamental footwork that they will need to use to shoot efficiently based on the type of shot they are shooting.  Each training session will include defense, agility and/or strength and conditioning exercises to help build these athletes.

Passing Lab 

 This program will introduce players to a number of different passes they will be required to use in live game situations. The fundamentals of passing both from stationary and moving positions will be emphasized and practiced. Players will learn what type of passes they should be making based on the game situation they are in. The players in this program will gain a base comfort level to understand how to throw effective passes to set their teammates up for success. Each training session will include defense, agility and/or strength and conditioning exercises to help build these athletes.

Transition/Decision Making Lab 

 This program will help players understand correct decisions to make while moving at high speeds/tempos during game situations. Transition basketball is a fast paced portion of the game where players will practice proper spacing along with how to read and make the most of the advantage created by the offense. Transition defense will also be taught in this program to help players in a disadvantaged situation on the court be able to slow down or stop the attacking players. Each training session will include defense, agility and/or strength and conditioning exercises to help build these athletes.
